British Council and The Harrington Street Arts Centre, in association with Flow, Education and Culture Consultants Private Limited, host Dimensions in British Contemporary Art 1990 – 2010. A public programme for British Council libraries and cultural centres, it will have Katherine Rose (picture right), art historian and leading cultural consultant, presenting the most exciting trends of the last 20 years of British art, from the explosion of the no-holds-barred ‘Young British Artists’ to the emergence of a global contemporary art language. It would offer an opportunity to experience British contemporary art in an in-depth and more intimate way. It would help us know a Damien Hirst from an Anish Kapoor; an installation from internet art. Later, Rose and noted painter Shuvaprasanna, will be in conversation on The Importance of Contemporary British and Indian Art. This will be followed by a screening of the film, Dimensions of British Contemporary Art 1990 – 2010 (7 pm). The art exhibition on the same theme, around which the other events are designed, presents a dramatic story of British contemporary art from the last two decades, tracing its nature, influences and changes. Event: Demonstration, discussion and screening of a film on the various facets of British Contemporary Art When: Today; 6 pm onwards Where: The Harrington Street Arts Centre, 8 Ho Chi Minh Sarani, Harrington Mansions, 2nd floor, Flat 5 & 25B
