May 11 - 13 at Bharatiyam Cultural Multiplex, Salt Lake; 6.30 pm: EZCC presents Pratibha Utsav 2004, featuring performances by the Union government scholarship holders in music and dance. May 12 at Sisir Mancha; 6 pm: Rabinandan celebrates Tagore’s 143rd birth anniversary with Rabindra Geeti Alekhya by the artistes of the organisation, and dance-drama Kach-O-Debjani.

IN MEMORIAM

May 11 at Paschimbanga Bangla Academy; 6 pm: An evening dedicated to Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra (1925-2004). Organised by Paschimbanga Rajya Sangeet Academy and West Bengal Dance Group Federation.

WORKSHOP

BOOK RELEASE

May 11 at Oxford Bookstore, 17 Park Street; 6.30 pm: Oxford Bookstore Calcutta and Penguin Books India host the launch of The Land of Naked People: Encounters with Stone Age Islanders (authored by Madhusree Mukerjee). The book will be released by Mahasweta Devi.
