Vignettes of nature

Vignettes of nature
O bjectivity is the very essence of photography, its contribution and at the same time its limitation…. Honesty no less than intensity of vision is the prerequisite of a living expression. The fullest realisation of this is accomplished without tricks of processes or manipulation, through the use of straight photographic methods — Paul Strand. Srijan is currently hosting its fourth annual exhibition of pictorial photographs. Fifteen Srijanites have participated in the show and a total of 70 photographs — 12 monochromes and 58 colour photographs — are on display. The creations are fascinating and reflect the sincerity of the participants and organisers. Imbibing ideas from other media, these photo-artists have recreated beautiful images that capture the inherent beauty in objects of nature. Some of them are striking creations like Mystic, Delight, Cactus, Playmate, etc. On the whole, a fine representation of the kind of pictorial work being pursued by city’s enthusiastic photographers.
