The exhibition, Vriksha – A Saga of Trees, is an innovative visual representation on the theme of environment degradation. A depiction of painter Shankar S’s vision of nature and trees as an integral part of the divine arrangement, some paintings depict the beauty and magnanimity of trees, while others bring forth grotesque imagery owing to human assault. They are decorative, sculptural and monstrous at times, and can quite subtly represent social beings in a more familiar, contemplative or confrontational pose. The show includes 12 paintings, 50 photographs, installations and video art.
