Three days of sweat and toil and winning smiles at the end of it all! Girls from Rabindranagar Kshetramohan Vidyamandir and the boys from Gyan Bharati Vidyalaya won the Inter-school Kabaddi Championship, presented by Bengal Warriors, in association with The Telegraph and Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra on Wednesday. While Gyan Bharati had to fight hard to eke out a narrow win (28-25) over Sree Vidya Niketan in the final, defending champions Rabindranagar Kshetramohan Vidyamandir had it easy (36-8) against Entally Hindu Balika Vidyamandir, in a repeat of last year’s final. “We were determined to win this year’s title and will win it next year as well,” said a confident Rina Dolui, a Class VIII student, who put up a brilliant performance throughout the tournament. Bowbazar Government Sponsored High School and Netaji Nagar Balika Vidyamandir bagged the second runner-up trophies for boys and girls, respectively.
