Teachers to retire at 62

The government today issued an order raising the retirement age of permanent teachers of universities and principals and teachers of state-aided colleges from 60 to 62.

Jan. 27: The government today issued an order raising the retirement age of permanent teachers of universities and principals and teachers of state-aided colleges from 60 to 62.

Librarians and graduate laboratory instructors working in universities and colleges and enjoying teaching status and equivalent regular government pay scale will retire at 62 as well.

The rule will apply to those who were in service on January 1 and are scheduled to retire on or after January 31.
