Jalpaiguri, Oct. 19: The first round of discussions to solve the problems of Dima, Raimatang and Kalchini tea estates failed yesterday with the management staying away from the meeting.

The district administration has ordered the block development officer of Kalchini to showcause the management for its absence.

The next meeting to resolve the deadlock over bonus and other disputes will be held on October 29.
