| Young men in uniform click pictures of a miniature remote-controlled helicopter at Fort William on Sunday, the 62nd Raising Day of the National Cadet Corps. Chief guest Srikumar Mukherjee, the state civil defence minister, announced that a chapter on disaster management would be included in the NCC syllabus. “For the first time in the state, six NCC cadets have qualified for the post of army officer. They joined the army through the National Defence Academy,” said Mukherjee. Former army chief General (retd) Shankar Roy Chowdhury gave away prizes. Maj-Gen. M.P.
