Jaigaon, April 10: A woman who had levelled charges of harassment against the block development officer (BDO) of Kalchini last Thursday has withdrawn the allegations in a written statement to the subdivisional officer (SDO) of Alipurduar.

Sangeeta Sha, in her statement given to Saumitra Mohan on Saturday, said BDO Suvrojyoti Ghosh did not drag her out of her spouse?s house. She said she was not pregnant either.

?The woman has withdrawn her charge. The complaint made by the BDO that he had got no cooperation from Jaigaon police to execute a warrant to rescue the girl from her lover has been sent to the district magistrate,? said Mohan. The mother of the woman alleged her daughter had been abducted by her lover, Kishore Chowdhury.
