Gangtok, July 27: After an 18-year hiatus, Nepali silver screen actress Tripti Nadkar has returned with a scintillating performance in the Sikkim production of Amako Kaakh, a film that revolves around a mother-figure played by her.
Nadkar has several Nepali hits to her credit, including Saino, Kusume Rumal, Samjhana and Lahure.
The movie produced by Sikkim-based Sai Gayatri Films premiered at Vajra Cineplex at Baluakhani here today. The star cast, including the Amitabh Bachchan of Nepal, Rajesh Hamal, and new sensations Nikhil Upreti and Niruta Singh were present on the occasion.
The film is directed by Vijay Kerung and produced by Gayatri Bhutia, a social worker from Sikkim. It depicts the anguish of leaving one?s place of origin.
