Bolpur, April 17: A Birbhum court today took cognisance of the CID's second chargesheet into the alleged torture of a woman by police, a report in which the agency has added the charge of molestation against four personnel.

The chief judicial magistrate (CJM) of Suri, Indranil Chatterjee, accepted the chargesheet as it clearly mentioned the status of the accused police personnel and the six Trinamul workers who had been accused in the FIR of accompanying the cops when they allegedly rubbed nettle leaves on the private parts of the woman, slashed her and beat her up with batons.

The second chargesheet mentions that there were no charges against the six Trinamul workers, who had been named as suspects in the first one.

The CJM today directed the four accused police personnel to appear in court on April 29, failing which an arrest warrant would be issued against them.
