Calcutta, Dec. 25: South 24-Parganas police today claimed to have all but clinched investigations into the looting and molestation of members of the women’s wing of the CPM on Sunday, says a staff reporter.

Six people have been arrested in connection with the incident. Police sources said five of them are SUCI supporters. The other belongs to the CPM.

Ganatantrik Mahila Samiti members were attacked at Joynagar in South 24-Parganas on way back from a conference addressed by the chief minister.

Hannan Laskar, Biswanath Sardar and Seikh Ibrahim were arrested from Kultali last night. Money, ornaments, watches and shawls were recovered from them along with daggers and revolvers. The trio has apparently spilled the details of the plot, including names of three others involved in the crime.
