Kareena, who is currently shooting for director Sujoy Ghosh’s film near Lava in Kalimpong, has sung praises of the khow-suey served by Neena’s Kitchen to her 9.1 million followers on Instagram.

Neena, who is a chef and hospitality consultant, had served the dish to the Bollywood star, prompting Kareena to share two photos in her Instagram stories.

“With the gang eating khowsey,” wrote the actress sharing her photo with her support staff. She also shared a picture of the noodle soup and tagged it as “best meal ever” on Sunday night.

“Kareena Kapoor Khan had somehow heard about me and wanted food from my kitchen. I had sent her the menu and since then, she has ordered food from my place during the past three days,” Neena said on Monday.

She added that she occasionally hosts curated fine dining experiences at her inn.

Her kitchen also offers bakes, preserves and pickles made from local produce.

“We later found out that my daughter-in-law and Kareena studied in the same school, Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun. Both of us wanted to meet her and today (Monday), got the chance. She was very polite and down to earth with us,” said Neena, who met the actress at her hotel in Kalimpong and clicked pictures with her.

“It is great to see that she has liked our food and posted on social media. Getting appreciation from such a celebrity is indeed an achievement,” Neena beamed.

In the past few days, Kareena ordered different kinds of food, ranging from ethnic Nepali cuisine like daal, rice, pork curry and potato pickle, to continental dishes, said Neena.

Later in the day, Kareena and her team left for Darjeeling. Kareena is scheduled to stay in the hills for some more days and will shoot in some other locations in the region for the film that will mark her OTT debut and premiere on Netflix.

The film is an adaptation of Devotion of Suspect X written by Japanese author Keigo Higashino. It is the third in his Detective Galileo series. The story revolves around a single mother who thought she had escaped the clutches of her abusive ex-husband, but things do not go her way.

During the past few days, the film was shot at a set at Sherpagaon near Lava.

Lakpa Sherpa, the owner of the plot where the set was made, said it was a unique experience watching Kareena during the shoot.

Dema Sherpa, a 12-year-old girl of the locality, excitedly said that her grandfather acted in a small scene with Kareena.
