Sept. 22: The elderly residents of Eden Tolly Signature in Haridevpur are an excited lot. Some of them will be walking the ramp, albeit for the first time, this Puja.

The kids at Teghoria's Shyam Vihar Phase II are busy rehearsing their Ashtami play, Lal Kamal Neel Kamal.

From Dhunuchi Naach to Dandiya - a group of youngsters at Ekta Floral in Tangra are busy getting their steps right.

Yes, it's that time of the year again when 100 housing complexes across the city gear up for four days of fun and the residents bond over the much-awaited Jio Digital Life presents The Telegraph Hand in Hand.

From Conch Shell Blowing and Sriman Srimati to Antakshari and Sit 'n' Draw, all the activities are a hit with the residents. "We wait for these events all year. We get to know our neighbours better and spend time with them. The rest of the year we hardly meet each other because of our busy lives. That is what makes The Telegraph Hand in Hand so popular," said Rajesh Kataruka of South City Residency.

The Jio LED Dhaaki event is one such popular activity that sets the mood for the festivities. "The Jio LED Dhaaki event is extremely popular in our housing complex. I have never seen so many residents coming together for one single event. We all are looking forward to the dhak beats this year too!" said Kavita Patodia, treasurer, puja committee, Merlin Residency.

"It has been an immense pleasure to associate with The Telegraph Hand in Hand on this festive occasion. Jio has been able to reach out to all valued customers living in these gated communities. Wishing everyone Sharodiya Shubhechchha and a very Happy Puja," said Abdhesh Kumar Singh, senior vice-president, regional head east, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited.

Another popular event is Telangana Tourism presents Sriman Srimati, a fun game for couples. For Debaroti Sarkar and husband Rahul, married for 10 years, last year was their first time at the Hand in Hand Sriman Srimati contest in Dream Excellency Flat Owners' Association. "We were quizzed on the places we have visited together and we could answer them all. It was a fun experience," said Debaroti.

"We are happy to be associated with the Sriman Srimati competition with The Telegraph Hand in Hand Durga Puja celebrations this year. On behalf of Telangana Tourism, tourism department, government of Telangana, I wish all the people of Bengal a joyous Durga Puja," said B. Venkatesham, secretary, youth advancement, tourism and culture department, Telangana.
