The Central Hall of Victoria Memorial on Thursday afternoon, a couple of days after the bar on photography inside the galleries was lifted. Hundreds of people have been going click-click at all nine galleries every day since, museum officials said. The Central Hall, also known as Queen's Hall, is one of the main attractions.
A marble statue of Queen Victoria sculpted by Thomas Brock commands attention at the centre of the circular hall, 184 feet under the main dome. A piano used by the queen in her younger days is also on display in the hall. The upper segments are adorned with a series of 12 canvas paintings by Frank Salisbury, depicting important events in the life of the queen.
