Tamluk, Nov. 22: The Digha administration has asked hotel owners to closely monitor the guests staying at their hotels as well as instruct them about the guidelines drawn up by the authorities about bathing in the sea.

The owners were told this at a meeting the Digha-Shankarpur Development Authority held with them, the district administration as well as the police yesterday. The owners were also told to warn their guests about not going into the water at deserted spots. The move comes in the wake of two IIT students drowning.

"The hotel owners have also been asked to display the guidelines on sea bathing at each of their hotels," said Antara Acharya, district magistrate.
