One arrested for gang rape
Mohammad Aslam Khan, a rickshaw-puller, was arrested from the Howrah station area on Wednesday in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 20-year-old girl. The girl came to Howrah from Dalkhola in North Dinajpur on February 20 and met Khan, in his 30s, at the station. Khan befriended her and took her to Jorabagan. According to the complaint lodged by the girl with Golabari police station on Tuesday, Khan and his friends raped her at Jorabagan before taking her back to Howrah and raping her again. The men finally dumped her at Howrah station and fled. The girl narrated her plight to people at the station who advised her to lodge a complaint. Khan has been sent to police custody for six days.
Flight to Hong Kong
Dragonair will operate an additional flight between Calcutta and Hong Kong from May 12. This will take the number of flights in a week between the two cities to six. Flights to Hong Kong were launched in November 2012 with four departures a week. The fifth departure was added in 2013. After the new addition, flights to Hong Kong will be available from the city on all days except Mondays and return flights will be available on all days except Tuesdays.
