The condition of Vidyasagar Setu is deplorable. The road surface has worn out and the bridge railings are also in dire straits. The bridge will crumble if repairs are not undertaken immediately. The government must take action against those neglecting maintenance work.

Buyers at Lake Town market have to negotiate potholes filled with dirty water at every step. Litter dumped at the entrance to the market emits a repellent smell. Reaching the post office and police station, located in the market complex, is tough, too.
