Medical stores raided SIT training Soccer champ Art exhibition

Siliguri, Oct. 28: Police seized 20 packets, each containing 10 pieces of neophrine injections, from a Pradhannagar medical store during a raid last night.

The injections, commonly used by drug addicts, were illegally hoarded at the shop owner’s house, police said. Deputy Superintendent of Police C.S. Lepcha said: “some fake anti-biotic capsules, sold under different brand names, were also seized during the raid”.


SIT training

Siliguri: Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) has organised several training programs for the third and fourth year students of different streams, which include Networking, VSLI and advanced technologies. The move aims to help the students to get “exclusive placement”. The programme started on October 23 and will end on November 3. At present, the fourth year students of the Computer Science and Information Technology department are undergoing a special training in New Delhi.


Soccer champ

Siliguri: Jagarani Football Coaching Club, a local outfit, lifted the Akhil Chandra Bairagi Memorial Cup on Monday. Organised by All Bengal Day-night Sub-junior Knock-out Football Committee, Siliguri Jagarani Sangha defeated Kurseong Sports Academy 5-2. The match was played at Ghogomali High School Ground.


Art exhibition

Darjeeling: Colours of Darjeeling, an art exhibition, opened at the Hayden Hall here on Monday. The exhibition, which showcases works of renowned artist Gagan Sherpa, will also be held at Gangtok. It will be on in Darjeeling till November 2.
