Tamluk, Aug. 22: Truck driver Gurjant Singh will be produced in a Tamluk court tomorrow.
CID officials today took Gurjant, who had rammed his truck into Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee’s convoy in Kolaghat on August 9, to the site of the incident. He was also taken to Haldia to verify if he had loaded plastic granules on his truck.
Calcutta: The state government on Sunday sought a report from the Burdwan administration on the suicide of a farmer on Saturday. Yunus Sheikh, 45, had gulped pesticide after he suffered losses because of the drought-like condition.
