Behrampore, Feb. 15: A Class XII student in Murshidabad hanged herself on Valentine’s Day after the private tutor she loved refused to marry her.
Police said the 18-year-old girl was pregnant. The 21-year-old tutor was arrested today on the charges of rape and abetment to suicide.
Tamluk: The body of a 24-year-old mother was found in her in-law’s home in East Midnapore’s Sutahata on Friday morning. Police said she might have been strangled. Her husband and in-laws have been arrested.
Tamluk: An 18-year-old boy died and two others suffered injuries after the trio’s motorcycle was hit by a truck when they were returning home from Digha. Toofan Bhowmik was a resident of Tamluk in East Midnapore.
