Jeweller killed

Raiganj, Feb 13: Amal Ghosh (30), a jeweller from Itahar, was found dead in his home last night. Ghosh was reportedly killed on Sunday night and locked inside his house.

The body was recovered on Monday after Ghosh’s wife, who stays in Gangarampur, came with a duplicate key. The body was bound hand and foot and electrocuted, police said. A safe in the room was forced open and gold worth Rs 60,000 was looted, his wife said.


Robbery arrest

Siliguri: Three persons have been arrested on Tuesday in connection with the robbery at St Francis School, Khoribari, last Saturday. Rajiv Sharma (18) and Rajkumar Mahato (20), both from Dohaguri, and Bidhan Das (19) of Adhikary, were produced in court.


Judge injured

Jalpaiguri: Murarimohan Ghosh, the district judge of Jalpaiguri, sustained injuries on his head and chest in an accident on Tuesday. Ghosh was on way to Alipurduar when a trekker hit his car.


Two held

Alipurduar: Rajesh Ram and Ramprasad Ram were arrested from Birpara on Monday. Six hundred tablets of Nitrosun-10 and two cartons of Corex were seized from them. Both have been produced in the court of ACJM.
