The KLIKK series Katakuti 2, directed by Raja Chanda, delves into a haunting narrative of buried truths and generational trauma. Featuring Subrata Dutta, Amrita Chattopadhyay, Sawon Chakraborty, Pushan Dasgupta, Sree Bhattacharya, and Alkaria Hashmi, the series explores the thin, unsettling line between victim and perpetrator. Dark, layered, and emotionally gripping, this new chapter expands the Katakuti universe with an intense, edge-of-the-seat experience. The team recently got together for the premiere.

“The response to the series has been very encouraging so far. In just a few days since its release, a significant number of viewers have already watched and appreciated it, and I hope many more will continue to do so.
The premiere at the Siddha Sky miniplex was intimate and memorable, shared with core team members and media. Working with Raja Chanda for the first time was a seamless and enriching experience. It was also wonderful to collaborate again with colleagues like Subrata Dutta, Subhrajit Dutta, and Rana Basu Thakur, and to share screen space with Pushan Dasgupta and others for the first time. I urge audiences to watch the series — not just for entertainment, but for the deeper message it carries. As a society, we often overlook or remain unaware of serious issues. It is crucial to create safe spaces where people can speak up, and where abusers are held accountable. This awareness must begin at home and extend into our workplaces,” said Amrita Chattopadhyay.

“The response since the OTT release and premiere has been extremely encouraging. Watching my friends and family react with pride and emotion was truly special. Playing the character of Bulti was challenging. I’m glad I could rise to the occasion and do justice to the role. The premiere, held at the Siddha Sky miniplex, was intimate and unique, offering a more personal connection with the audience. The collaborative and supportive environment on set made it easier to explore such a dark and emotionally layered character,” said Alkaria Hashmi.

“My efforts were focused on exploring the complexities of the distorted human mind, where moral ambiguity begins to play psychological games within the viewer’s psyche. This narrative goes beyond the conventional depiction of violence, delving deeper into internal conflicts, fear, and the social taboos surrounding a wronged father. Subrata Dutta has brought these emotions to life with remarkable depth and nuance. Each actor immersed themselves fully into their characters, creating a powerful and lasting impact. The story gradually unravels how the shadows of the past and childhood trauma become crucial elements in the investigative process. It was a joy to collaborate once again with my son, Rajputra Chanda, after Picasso, on the music for this series. He has done an exceptional job, and I thoroughly enjoyed writing the lyrics and performing the rap for the title track,” said Raja Chanda.

For Subrata Dutta, portraying an aggrieved, wrongly accused, and incarcerated father was deeply challenging. “I’m glad I could bring out the vulnerability and pain of the character through a distinct body language, making the narrative more authentic. I believe this series has the potential to create awareness and serve as a cautionary tale for young, vulnerable children and youth,” he said.

“The safety of our younger generation is at stake, and silence is no longer an option. We need more such impactful narratives to spark conversations and drive change,” said Sree Bhattacharya.
