Bhubaneswar, March 9: The civic body today made public the WhatsApp number - 94374-96950 - where residents can lodge grievances.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation also announced that its mobile application called 'My City My Pride' will be available on iOS and Windows phones within one month.
It is now available only on Android phones.
'To cater to the iPhone and Windows phone users, we realised that the reach of the app must be extended. The iOS is nearing completion and the windows system will take some more time,' said municipal commissioner Krishan Kumar.
Besides, the municipal corporation today launched several other services. While holding tax payer of ward No. 11 (Jaydev Vihar and part of Chandrasekharpur) can now pay their self-assessed holding tax online, a dedicated website only for grievance redressal www.bmcsampark.in was launched on the occasion.
'Residents can lodge their complaints on the site. Moreover, by April 1, we will try to cover cases related to pipe water supply, sewerage, parks, Bhubaneswar Development Authority and encroachments,' said Kumar.
Deputy commissioner in charge of public relations Srimanta Mishra said: 'People can now pay online by logging onto the Odisha online portal. We have a secured e-gateway and the payment mode is under the Reserve Bank of India guidelines.'
'Once the online grievance redressal system starts operating, we want to fix any problem relating to solid waste within three days. At present, it takes more than seven days,' said the commissioner.
Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena said: 'We will add two more wards to the online collection of holding tax within a month's time. Within a year, all the 15 tax wards will be included.' The civic body also launched an e-magazine called 'e-Vaarta'.
