Bhubaneswar, July 31: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik today launched e-abhijoga, a portal through which people can submit their grievances and hope for a quick remedy.

The only problem with the much-lauded system is that the complaint has to be written in English.

Orissa has become the second state after Haryana to introduce such a system. “We will soon introduce the Oriya format,” said chief secretary T.K. Mishra.

The online grievance cell is supposed to quickly dispose of petitions.

Launching the scheme at the state secretariat today, the chief minister said that citizens would be able to submit their grievances from anywhere in the world. “The petitioners will be given unique registration numbers. They will be able to track the progress made on his complaint and get a print out of the action taken report,” Naveen said.

Kalahandi collector Rupa Mishra presented the case of Sushant Kumar Rout, a 12-year-old boy, who is suffering from non-cirrhotic portal hypertension (liver disease), through a video conference. She asked the chief minister to sanction Rs 10,000 for his treatment.

Through e-abhijoga, the application was immediately registered. A copy of the action taken report was handed over to the boy. The money will soon be released soon, sources said. Basanta Maharana (53) of Maa Basundhara Swayam Sahayak Sangha presented an application to the chief minister on behalf her village. She urged Naveen to build a road in her village Gokulpur Badasahi in Govindpur panchayat near Tangi.

The application was forwarded to the Cuttack collector, Kishore Mohanty.
