Till Friday, there was no Covid-19 case in Nagaland.

“In these trying times, we wanted to reach out to our society. Secondly, with several concerts and events getting cancelled around the state and country, the music community is going through a lot.

Their earnings have come to a standstill. We are ensuring that whoever participates in the gig gets paid. This is our small way to keep the musicians engaged, inspired and use their time to help others in any and every way possible. People can enjoy their extraordinary talents, meet and interact with them online and celebrate the joy of music.

“We have been also trying to bring other bands from the Northeast, one from each state,” said Theja Meru, adviser, Task Force for Music and Arts, Nagaland.

Participating artistes, 11 in total, one slated for each day of the gig, include Alobo Naga, Tetseo Sisters and Nise Meruno.

“This initiative is for the Northeast and the entire country to stay safe, stay home, stay well and strong,” he said.
