IITG tech fest from Aug 30

The 20th edition of the three-day Techniche, IIT Guwahati's annual techno-management festival, will be held from August 30 to September 2. The festival will start with the 10th Guwahati Half Marathon on August 26. It will be organised on Run for Digital India theme, creating awareness about the Centre's digital initiatives.

Guwahati: The 20th edition of the three-day Techniche, IIT Guwahati's annual techno-management festival, will be held from August 30 to September 2. The festival will start with the 10th Guwahati Half Marathon on August 26. It will be organised on Run for Digital India theme, creating awareness about the Centre's digital initiatives.

Lectures, workshops, robotics, Corporate Module, TechOlypics, Funniche and Cultural Nites are some of the events and activities lined up for the festival wherein 40 colleges are likely to participate.

Eminent personalities like head of experimental physics department, CERN, Manfred Krammer, visual effects supervisor at Walt Disney, Marlon West, and former director-general of Defence Research and Development Organisation V.K. Saraswat will deliver lectures at the event.

An exhibition by the armed forces is a special highlight this year.

An industrial conclave will be addressed by president of group strategy and chief brand officer and president of defence at Mahindra Group S.P. Shukla.

Convener of the festival Purvish Shah said, "The festival is a confluence of some of the most logical and technically proficient brains from across the world. It is organised by IITians passionate about technology. It is all about showing your calibre, respecting the mettle of your opponent."
