Guwahati, Sept. 13: Achievers from the Northeast will share their success mantras with students and youths from the region during the Arunodoi Northeast Students and Youth Summit in New Delhi on Saturday and Sunday.

The event, being organised under the aegis of the Assam government's state-level advisory committee for students' and youth welfare, promises to bring the best minds of the Northeast in the corporate world, academia, journalism and sports together on one platform.

Chief scientist of Chandrayan Mission, Jitendra Nath Goswami, superintendent of police of National Investigation Agency, Sanjukta Parashar, senior vice-president of PayTM Shankar Nath, actress Seema Biswas, entrepreneur Abhijit Barooah, all from Assam, fashion designer Omi Gurung from Sikkim, Aizawl Football Club owner Robert Royte from Mizoram, Anshu Jansempa who climbed the Everest four times and Maj. Gen. Jarken Gamlim from Arunachal Pradesh are likely to take part in the two-day event.

Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju, Union minister of state for information technology Manoj Sinha, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Arunachal chief minister Pema Khandu, Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma are likely to attend.

"The idea of this event is to highlight the Northeast as a vibrant and positive story. The conclave will feature talks which will host industry leaders, academicians, policy experts, retired diplomats and students. It will also feature debates, photography contests and Q&A sessions with famous personalities from the Northeast," a statement by the organiser said today.

The event will be held at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts in New Delhi.

Three seminars on Act East Policy and connectivity, five ideas for developed Northeast by 2030 and Man and forest: adversaries or partners in development will be held on Saturday followed by two more on scope and opportunities for students of the Northeast and developing Northeast as the next organic hub the next day. It will celebrate success stories of the region while felicitating those who have made the country together.

This is the first time that achievers across all platforms will assemble at one place in order to build a positive image of the northeastern states, said the statement. The unique music and culture, food items and debates will be some of the highlights.
