The railway authorities have announced an AC premium train and changed the schedule of 16 express ones — all of them passing through Dhanbad junction — in its new timetable effective from Monday, September 1.
According to a news release issued by public relations officer (PRO), Dhanbad railway division, Ranjir Kumar Singh, a new AC premium train on Sealdah-Katra route will pass through Dhanbad station. The train, which was actually announced in this year’s railway budget, will run once a week, timing and date for which are yet to be announced.
“The train will help passengers a lot during the festive season. We will release its timing shortly,” Singh added.
This apart, the railways have changed the timing of a number of important trains that stop at Dhanbad station.
Howrah-Jabalpur Express will now arrive in Dhanbad at 5.33pm and reach Jabalpur at 2.25pm the next day. However, on its return journey, the arrival time will remain unchanged. Similarly, the arrival of 19414 Kolkata-Ahmedabad Express has been rescheduled at 5.13pm.
Also, Howrah-Ajmer Express will now arrive here at 17.13pm on its way to Rajasthan, while Ajmer-Sealdah Express will reach the coal town junction at 11.10am while returning to Calcutta.
Delhi-bound Howrah-New Delhi Express will come to Dhanbad at 19.56pm now. On its return journey, the express will reach the town at 9am.
The timing of the Ranchi-Dumka Express have also been changed. On its way to Dumka, the train will reach Dhanbad at 2am. It will arrive here at 23.37pm on way back to the capital.
The arrival time of a number of other trains, including 13025 Howrah-Bhopal Express (17.13pm), 18605 Ranchi-Jai Nagar (00.45am), 15661 Ranchi-Kamakhya Express (00.45am), 13010 Dehradun-Howrah Express (1.15am), 13152 Jammu-Kolkata Express (10.28am), 12941 Bhavnagar-Asansol Express (9.10am) and 12937 Gandhidham-Howrah Express (9.10am), have also been changed.
