Ranchi, Dec. 3: The NDA would launch its campaign for the Tamar by-election on December 11.
It has decided to field Vasundhara Munda, the widow of slain JD-U legislature party leader Ramesh Singh Munda. She is likely to file her nomination papers on December 11. Senior BJP leaders from Bihar and Jharkhand have agreed to campaign for her. Most of them would also camp in Tamar throughout the campaign.
State JD-U chief Jaleshwar Mahto said that his party had also appealed to all such forces who want to get rid of the UPA rule to help Vasundhara win the bypoll. He, however, was yet to have formal talks with Ajsu chief Sudesh Mahto, who is considering to field his candidate in Tamar.
Mahto alleged that UPA partners were now robbing the state and only NDA was capable of overthrowing them. He added that the chief minister was only making false promises and promoting corruption.
State BJP chief P.N. Singh said that though the results of Tamar bypoll would not directly affect the fate of the Shibu Soren government, it will determine the future direction of power politics in Jharkhand. He maintained that the BJP and JD-U would fight in unity the next Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
Gearing up for the success of its protest campaigns on December 5, the BJP today appointed in-charges for different districts. The party would stage demonstration at the district headquarters demanding immediate dismissal and arrest of rural development minister Anosh Ekka and urban development minister Hairnarayan Rai.
