CM Hemant Soren on Saturday inaugurated the two-day Rajrappa Mahotasava near the Ma Chhinamstika temple. He said his government would focus on developing all “internal strengths” of Jharkhand to make it into a developed state.

NIA raids in Khunti

Sleuths of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday carried out raids in Khunti in connection with the terror funding probe. A local resident said 50 sleuths divided into four teams searched houses of Jai Prakash Bhuiyan, Sitaram Bhagat and Ranjeet Gope at Torpa and that of Amit Jaiswal in Digri. According to the resident, Jai Prakash is a former PLFI member who had surrendered two years ago, Amit is a bus agent, Sitaram an insurance agent and Ranruns an eatery.

Twitter clip

A passenger of Hatia-Howrah Kriya Yoga Express from Ranchi to Calcutta, Ashish Agrawal, at 1.25am on Saturday tagged a 44-second video clip to the Twitter handle of railway minister Piyush Goyal and other railway authorities, purportedly showing the TTE collecting money from passengers in lieu of berths. Agrawal said those who gave money to the TTE got their general berths confirmed. The railways have taken cognisance of the video clip and a probe is on.

MP’s ex-secy kin

Two relatives of Manoj Singh, the former private secretary of MP C.P. Choudhary, on Saturday surrendered before an ED court here. Manoj Singh is wanted in a case of money laundering worth Rs 12.81 crore.

3 held for loot

Seraikela police on Saturday arrested a trio for a February 3 bike-and-phone loot near the Manikui level-crossing in Chandil.

Jumbos in Dalma

A herd of around 12 jumbos entered the 192sqkm Dalma sanctuary in the small hours of Saturday.
