After Udaan in 2010, another feature film will be shot extensively in and around Jamshedpur from December.
Love You Babliji is a love story set in a Maoist-hit village on the outskirts of Jamshedpur.
Suzad Iqbal Khan, who has made Hindi movies like Monsoon (2015), My Father Iqbal (2016) and Murari the Mad Gentleman (2016), will direct the film while writer and actor Sagar Nath Jha has penned the script. With a budget of Rs 2.5-3 crore, the movie is expected to hit the screens by June-July 2017. Music will be composed by Biswajit Bhattacharjee and Varun.
Addressing the media at a community hall in the steel city after conducting an audition on Tuesday, Jha said the male lead roles would be played by renowned actor Narendra Jha of Haider (2014) fame and Sanjay Singh, who had played the role of Fazloo in Gangs of Wasseypur.
The movie revolves around a well-educated girl belonging to a Maoist-affected village who tries to impart education to other girls at the cost of her relationship with her lover, who wants to go out of the village.
“Both Narendra Jha and Sanjay Singh have been signed for the film and we are in talks with Radhika Apte to play the female protagonist. We have decided to hire 60 per cent of the actors and technicians for the film from Jamshedpur and its nearby areas. We plan to start shooting from mid-December both in villages and urban areas. We have done recee of several Maoist-hit villages in the last few days and will finalise the locations in a day or two,” added Jha.
Lauding the state government for its new film policy that promises a lot of sops for movies that will be shot in Jharkhand, Jha said that it would encourage other filmmakers to shoot in the state.
“We had seen Mahesh Bhatt and Anupam Kher shooting for a film in Ranchi recently and more filmmakers will come to make movies in the state. We will be using the local language spoken in Jamshedpur,” said Jha.
