Super 30 founder and mathematician Anand Kumar delivered a lecture at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, on Tuesday.

Anand said: "The biggest problem that the world faces today is that of poverty and deprivation. Educational empowerment is the key to find a lasting solution to this."

Appreciating the Super 30 initiative, some of the academicians said a similar initiative should be planned for Syrian refugees.

AIDS awareness

The Bihar chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry and Patna chapter of Young Indians organised a programme for World AIDS Day on Tuesday.

Physician Diwakar Tejaswi said: " One should always take blood from a licensed blood bank in case of a medical emergency. Avoiding unprotected sexual exposure is also advisable."

Art competition

Koshi Jan Kalyan Samiti, a non-government organisation, organised a Madhubani painting competition on Tuesday at Prema garden hall in which 40 students from the underprivileged sections took part.

Samiti president Veena Singh, said: "More than 200 kids learn Madhubani art at our organisation.
