Team India captain Virat Kohli, limited overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah were on Thursday retained in the top bracket of BCCI contracts, worth Rs 7 crore each.

The BCCI rewarded the youngsters who played a key role in India’s triumph in Australia Down Under. A total of 28 cricketers were awarded central contracts in four categories.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya is one of the notable promotions to Grade A.

Wristspinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, who were a crucial part of India's white-ball plans till not long back, also suffered demotions, dropping to Grade C.

Shardul Thakur (Grade C to B) has earned a promotion in the new contracts list.

Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey, who have lost their place in the limited overs squads, have dropped out of the contracts list.
