Bangalore: India’s Chetan Anand defeated Eric Pang to win the Irish Open Badminton Championship.
Anand, world No. 26, won 8-15, 15-6, 15-7 against his higher ranked opponent in the final on Sunday. In the semi-final, he beat England No. 1 Aamir Ghaffar 15-8, 15-9, according to reports received here.
In the mixed doubles semi-final at the Irish Open, the Indian duo of V. Diju and Jwala Gutta lost to Scottish No. 1 pair of Andrew Bowman and Kirsteen Mcewan Miller 15-3, 4-15, 9-15. (Pti)
