Colombo: Bangladesh got off to a winning start at the expense of New Zealand in the ICC under-19 World Cup opener at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium here on Sunday.

In the group A match, Mushfiqur Rahim’s side bowled New Zealand out for just 175, but were then reduced to five for the loss of two wickets and then 123 for six, before clinching the tie by three wickets.

Earlier, Bangladesh spinners did a stellar job, bowling out the Black Caps for 175 with Mehrab Hossain bagging four wickets for 29, while Mohammed Sohrawardi chipped in with three for 36.
