Sepang: Narain Karthikeyan was impressive as A1 Team India recorded their best performance of the season by finishing sixth at Sepang and gaining five more points in the feature race on Sunday.

After qualifying in 11th place, Karthikeyan raced past several cars — including Team New Zealand, Canada, Ireland and Germany — moving up the grid with power and confidence. The Indian’s fastest lap was the 34th, which he did in 1:50.161 seconds.

Team Switzerland’s Neel Jani had a fabulous weekend, winning both the sprint and feature races.

In the sprint race, Team India finished 13th.

“I am happy with our performance today. We raced hard and things went well for the team,” Karthikeyan said. (PTI)
