Bangalore, March 2 :    Bangalore, March 2:  Strengthtostrength, one of the two seven-year-olds in the field of 15 runners, had a narrow measure of his young rivals in the 1,200m Sprinters' Cup, the star attraction in today's race card here. Timing his challenge to perfection, Christopher Lemaire partnered the Farajullah-Powerglide son from trainer Rehanullah Khan's yard to a short-head victory over the course-favourite, Palazzio who in turn left Soviet Song and Alylady further half-a-length behind. Lemaire, who was in a good nick, finished the day with four winners. The Sprinters' was a fast run race with Ally McBeal exploding into the front and Palazzio meaning business right from the start. However, Lemaire, the crafty French jockey, was too alert to sense the notorious designs of the opposition thus placed the aging but trusted galloper in their close proximity immediately after the start. In the final stretch, N. McCullagh on Palazzio, enjoyed a two-length lead, but that proved insufficient when Strengthtostrength made his customary finish to seal the verdict at the post. Appeaser was the easy winner of the 3,000m Stayers' Cup. Having trailed the field 600m from home, Kader worked his way up to put Alchemy in his place when the Rashid Byramji-trainee walked passed the Padmanabhan-ward Alchemy in the last 150m of the race.
