Sharma went on to add that the response towards less popular sports like Basketball and Football among the Indian audience is outstanding. However, Sharma claims that the Indian sports scene is still struggling simply because of poor infrastructure.
"The clear lack of infrastructure, whether it may be the facilities for training and playing, or the infrastructure in terms of media and communication, deprives other major sports of finding a footing in India", said Shubham Sharma. "What's more is that a lack of policies and initiatives means that the masses don't have any source of encouragement to pick up a basketball or switch the channel to an F1 game. Sports Al Dente's Indian Sports Initiative aims to spread awareness and encourage people to try out different games and sports and instill a keen interest towards the same", Sharma went on to add.
Surat-based Al Dente's Sports Indian Initiative will be exclusive to the state of Gujarat. However, with the company's plans to expand its offices and reach other parts of the country, Al Dente's initiatives will also cater to the wider public. According to the marketing head of the sports news website, the Indian Sports Initiative will invite involve a great deal of social awareness and socially responsible initiatives.
