Bangalore, March 24:
New South Wales allrounder Shane Lee will join the Australian squad for the one-day series against India, an ACB release said today.
Lee, 27, flew out of Sydney this afternoon and will arrive in Mumbai Sunday evening.
He is expected to link up with the rest of the squad in Pune, ahead of the second match of the five-game one-day series, replacing Michael Kasprowicz, who will fly back home with Colin Miller, Justin Langer, Michael Slater and Jason Gillespie.
Kasprowicz was set to stay with the tour party when it was decided yesterday evening that Gillespie should return home to rest ahead of the Ashes tour.
However, following further discussions, the Queensland fast bowler did not travel to Bangalore and Lee was called up instead.
Lee, the elder brother of fast bowler Brett, last played for Australia in the ICC KnockOut meet.
It is learnt that though Gillespie was not injured, he was sent home to prevent any chances of damaging his hamstring. He had missed their last tri-series at home because of a hamstring tear.
