Calcutta/New Delhi: Former India captain and icon Sachin Tendulkar feels that India have a "very good chance" to win the upcoming World T20 at home.
"We have a very good chance... As far as the T20s are concerned, I think that the team is well balanced... With senior members joining the squad, the youngsters being there and also guys who have been around for a while... They all as a package have performed really well," Sachin told a television channel.
Young pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who impressed in the T20I series in Australia, earned Sachin's praise while he was speaking on the team combination.
"You see the way Bumrah bowled in Australia was superb... And it's also nice to have someone like Ashish Nehra back... Yuvi is also back in the squad, Harbhajan is there... All these guys together is a formidable combination. I would definitely want India to go all the way in the World T20," Sachin said.
Speaking on India's stupendous show in the T20I series against Australia, in which Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men blanked the hosts 3-0, Sachin lauded the effort saying that the team played "fabulous" cricket.
"The way we played in the T20Is, I think it was fabulous cricket... I actually ended up watching the last ball (of the final T20I). I was out somewhere and had just got back... My wife and son were watching. They called me and said that the last ball was about to be bowled and India needed two runs to win. I told them that there is no doubt that we would be scoring those two runs... And then Raina hit that brilliant shot over point," Sachin recollected.
For the record, Sachin, during his playing days, had represented India in a solitary T20I, which was against South Africa, in Johannesburg, in December 2006. He had taken one wicket and scored runs as India went on to win the match by 34 runs.
India had won the inaugural edition of the World T20, in 2007, under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. India are currently the top-ranked side in the ICC T20I rankings for teams.
