Calcutta: Rohit Sharma underwent a precautionary X-ray on Sunday after being hit on the left toe in the very first ball he faced against Pakistan on Saturday, in the Asia Cup.
Rohit was hit on the left toe by a Mohammed Aamir delivery during India’s chase in Saturday’s high-octane encounter in Mirpur. He couldn’t open his account in the game, as Aamir trapped him leg-before off the very next ball.
According to the team management, “Rohit sustained a blow to his left toe during the India-Pakistan game last night. He was taken for precautionary X-ray in the morning and thankfully, there is nothing to worry.
“He has a bit of soreness and doing his rehab and recovery under the medical staff of the team, and he should be fine.”
From the team management’s version, it appears Rohit will be able to feature in India’s next game against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. With Shikhar Dhawan missing the Pakistan tie owing to a niggle, India would certainly want Rohit to be back to full fitness as quickly as possible.
