Silchar: Powered by a strokeful 97 by former India opener Sadagopan Ramesh, South Zone trounced Central Zone by 62 runs in their Deodhar Trophy match on Thursday.
Electing to bat, South were all out for 217 in 49.5 overs. Ramesh struck nine boundaries but Central spinner Abbas Ali snapped up six wickets for 25 to restrict South Zone to a modest total.
The South Zone bowlers then bundled out Central Zone for a 155 with Tinu Yohanan and S.C. Nair scalping three each.
