She iterated the importance of discipline, hard work, and commitment in her journey as a successful sportsperson.

Taking a trip down memory lane spanning two decades, Sindhu spoke about the time she started her badminton adventures at the age of eight. She underscored the essence of learning from mistakes and sustaining a positive and disciplined life ethos.

She spoke about her fear after a major injury that had dimmed her chances of taking part in the 2016 Rio Olympics. But with her support system having her back, she was able to bounce back. She went on to clinch the silver medal at Rio, losing to Carolina Marin of Spain in the final. She also won the bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.

Talking about life after the Olympic success, Sindhu said: “My life completely changed after the 2016 Olympics. When I returned to India, right from the airport to up to 37 kms — old and young people were cheering with my banners. I feel good about the love but when I look back, I realize that I have worked very hard, and it wasn’t an easy journey. I earned it.”

Sindhu also spoke about her close relationship with her parents, outlining their constant support through life’s ups and downs. They consistently motivated her to always give her best, even in the face of defeat. Reflecting on their words of wisdom, she recalled their simple yet powerful advice: “Work harder and come back stronger.”

Summing up her life philosophy, Sindhu said she believed in hard work, passion and positivity. She added that self-belief is the key to bouncing back stronger and ultimately winning in life. In an emotionally charged segment, she got real about mental health, revealing that her daily meditation routine helps her to stay calm.
