Calcutta: Trevor James Morgan, East Bengal's new coach, arrived in the city on Monday night.
Morgan is not new to the city, having coached the same club in an earlier stint as well. But the Englishman still thinks it's always challenging to work here.
Morgan will take charge of East Bengal from the Federation Cup onwards. He, however, has not seen many matches of East Bengal this year.
"I don't know much about the team and have seen only some in YouTube before coming here," Morgan said at the airport on Monday night.
Morgan will travel with the team to Shillong where East Bengal are scheduled to play their last I-League match against Lajong FC on Sunday. After that match, Morgan will have a meeting with the players.
"I know some of the players of this team, but I'm not aware of their present condition. I need to assess that and will then prepare our plans for the next tournament," Morgan added.
Around 100 odds supporters were present at the airport to receive Morgan. That made him a bit emotional. "They loved me, I am touched by their presence."
"I have won the Federation Cup twice but this is going to be a new start," added Morgan.
