Calcutta: Mohun Bagan prevailed over George Telegraph 4-0 in a CFL Premier Division A tie on Wednesday, at their home ground. Prabir Das scored a brace for Bagan. Darryl Duffy and Saran Singh were the other scorers.

With this win, they now have six points from two matches.

Das had also scored the first goal of the season for the club when they played their first match against Aryan.

Bagan started on a positive note. Duffy got a good chance to score inside the first 10 minutes, but George Telegraph custodian Laltu Mondal brilliantly saved his right footer.

Sankarlal Chakraborty's men did not have to wait long for the first goal, as Das nodded in an inch perfect corner-kick from Tapan Maity in the 17th minute. The lead was doubled in the 37th minute when Das's flick found the goal following Maity's flag-kick. It was 2-0 in favour of Bagan at the half-time.

In the second half, Bagan maintained their rhythm. They were awarded a penalty when the ball touched George Telegraph defender Gurpreet Singh's hand inside the box. Duffy took the spot-kick which was saved by Mondal, but an alert Duffy scored off the rebound.

The best goal of the day came in 86th minute, when Saran Singh's right footed long-ranger from 25 yards touched the crossbar and went in. MoM Das was all smiles after the match. "I am thankful to Sanjay Sen for the opportunity he gave me last season. Only because of him I am here. Our coach Chakraborty also has helped me a lot," Das said.
