Calcutta: Former India captain Anil Kumble and promising youngster Manish Pandey, both from the Royal Challengers Bangalore, featured among the awardees when the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 Wednesday night honoured the outstanding performances in domestic T20 competitions from across the world over the last one year.
While Kumble picked up the award for the best bowling figures in a match for his effort (5/5) against the Rajasthan Royals during IPL II Pandey took the honours for the best batting average with a tally of 168 runs at an average of 84.
Also among the awardees was Victorian Bushrangers and Kolkata Knight Riders’s Brad Hodge, who earned the distinction of bagging the most runs (cumulative) for the two teams.
Meanwhile, the Champions League technical committee approved Glenn McGrath of the Delhi DareDevils and Stiaan van Zyl of the Cape Cobras as replacements for Paul Collingwood and Richard Levi respectively.
