Mumbai, Nov. 19 :
In a volte-face, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to send injured Ajay Jadeja to South Africa for treatment, according to Board secretary Jaywant Lele.
Lele said from Baroda over phone that BCCI has decided to send Jadeja to South Africa for treatment on his right shoulder by specialist Dr Mark Ferguson. ?If Dr Ferguson says the injury is not of serious nature then Jadeja will join the Indian team in Australia a week later. If his injury turns out to be serious then we will announce a replacement,? he added.
?The Board has asked Jadeja to leave for treatment as early as possible and we might get a clear picture within a day or two. Now it is entirely his (Jadeja) decision when he will go,? Lele said.
Lele had said yesterday that the BCCI thought it was unnecessary for Jadeja to go to South Africa for treatment, as a month?s rest would heal the injury.
Meanwhile, Mumbai based specialist, Dr Anant Joshi refused to elaborate on the nature of his injury. ?I cannot comment on the injury right now as I have not seen the reports which are present with Dr Ferguson. We can get a clear picture only by Sunday,? he added.
