EB, Tolly in semi-finals

Tollygunge Agragami and East Bengal made the semi-finals of the CAB senior knock-out tournament on Tuesday with thumping wins against Calcutta Port Trust and Tapan Memorial, respectively. While Tollygunge won by 46 runs, East Bengal prevailed by 116 runs.

CLW win

CLW beat Eastern Railway 3-1 in a BHA first division Group A league match on Tuesday. While B. Kullu, S. Kindo and S. Tirkey scored for the winners, Rajesh Lakra netted the reducer. In a Group B match, Sporting Union was held 1-1 by Wari.

Gymnastics

Ashish Kumar of UP emerged individual champion with 53.4 points in the 17th sub-junior national gymnastics at SAI on Wednesday. Devesh Kumar (UP, 50.6) and Anurag Singh (UP, 50.3) clinched the men’s silver and bronze. Meanwhile, Shalu Mishra of UP won the individual women’s crown with 34.51 while Gayitri Verma (UP, 33.72) and Apporva Srivastava (UP, 33.64) came second and third.
