Tottenham Hotspur have taken Gareth Bale off the home page of the club’s official Twitter account, a further indication that the striker could be on his way to Real Madrid.
However, he arrived on cue at Tottenham’s training ground on Tuesday, amid reports in Spain that he would stay away.
Downing to exit Reds
Stewart Downing has been told he can leave Liverpool after the club who allowed Pepe Reina to move to Napoli last week.
Liverpool will seek a fee in the region of £5 million for Downing, who joined the club for £20 million from Aston Villa two years ago.
Everton eye Toby
Toby Alderweireld’s father has said that his son would move to Everton if they can agree a fee with Ajax. The Dutch club have been trying to extend the defender’s contract beyond next summer and Alderweireld recently turned down a £6.9 million move to Norwich City.
Newcastle sign Remy
Newcastle has signed French striker Loic Remy on a season-long loan from Queens Park Rangers, strengthening their attack. Remy joined QPR in the January transfer window and scored six goals in 14 appearances, but couldn’t prevent the London club being relegated to the League Championship.
